The cellar-worthy 2022 Lonely Heart opens with a bouquet of warm baking spices and sweet tobacco that frame abundant dark fruit aromas. The palate unfolds in layers, showcasing macerated berries alongside rich mocha coffee notes and thoughtfully integrated sweet oak. A core of black current is complemented by subtle hints of Bing cherries that add brightness and complexity. The substantial structure reveals itself through firm, well-developed tannins that provide excellent grip and persistence.

Winemaker Notes
The 2022 Lonely Heart is a single-vineyard cabernet sauvignon from our custom planted blocks at Quintessence Vineyard on Red Mountain. The foundation of the blend comes from our block 9 cabernet sauvignon that was planted in 2010 with clone 191. Grapes from this block produce wines with bold, fruit driven aromatics and expansive, rich flavors. When working with such extraordinary fruit we strive to elevate and support its unique qualities without obscuring the profile with heavy-handed winemaking techniques. Our goal is to allow the amazing qualities of the fruit to be freely expressed in the finished wine. Specific oak cooperage is selected to enhance the innate beauty and power of the wine without overwhelming the aromas and flavors. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was lightly pressed to barrel where it aged for 21 months in 93% new French oak.
