Winemaker Notes
The 2022 growing season in the Willamette Valley
produced exceptional fruit for our Megan Anne Pinot
Noir. The season began slowly with cool and damp
spring weather, putting grape development several
weeks behind. Luckily, a perfectly warm and dry
September and October allowed for ideal ripening
conditions, leading to classic Pinot Noir flavor
development. Grapes were harvested from
September 30th to October 20th in sunny late fall
weather, resulting in robust flavors and silky
textures. The 2022 Megan Anne Pinot Noir is a
blend of three clones: 777, 115, and Pommard. Most
of the blend is sourced from Lazy River Vineyard,
featuring 20+ year old vines on a cooler site with
prized Jory soil that allows for slower ripening and
concentrated fruit. The remaining fruit came from
Roe & Roe vineyard in Ribbon Ridge and Freedom
Hill Vineyard, situated on a gentle southeast slope
that benefits from early morning sun exposure and
cold air drainage, ideal conditions for the grapes to
mature.
