2023 Sauvignon Blanc from Quintessence
Vineyard on Red Mountain offers a vibrant and
expressive take on the varietal. On the nose, notes
of citrus zest, ripe white peach, and whiff of freshly
cut grass. The palate is bright and refreshing, with
a crisp acidity that carries flavors of juicy
grapefruit, lemon verbena, and green melon. The
cool temperature fermentation preserves the
wine's racy, mineral-tinged character, while the
portion of new French oak aging lends a pleasing
roundness to the mid-palate. The finish is clean
and lingering, leaving you eager for the next sip.

Winemaker Notes
The 2023 Mark Ryan sauvignon blanc is sourced
from a single block at Quintessence vineyard on
Red Mountain. Farmed with meticulous attention
to detail, the fruit was harvested by hand on
September 2nd and then whole-cluster pressed in
the winery. The wine fermented slowly at cool
temperatures over a three-week period. This
gradual fermentation preserves the delicate
aromas and flavors present in white grapes. The
wine was not put through malolactic fermentation,
resulting in bright, fresh citrus flavors across the
palate and great lift in the finish. The wine was
aged for six months in a combination of new and
used French oak, as well as stainless steel.
