2020 MONKEY WRENCH
Winemaking Notes: The 2020 Monkey Wrench combines the power of Red Mountain cabernet sauvignon and malbec with the elegance of Yakima Valley merlot. The fruit from Red Mountain oers intense layers of ripe fruit with an expansive and textured palate. Yakima Valley fruit provides lifted floral notes and delicate spice with broad flavors and a refined finish. The fruit was hand harvested between September 15th and October 16th, 2020. The wine was fermented in 1.5, 2 and 5 ton open top fermenters for 7-10 days. The wine is lightly pressed to barrel where it finishes primary and secondary fermentation and is aged for 22 months in 10% new French oak. The wine was racked three times and fined prior to bottling.
